Everyday Faith - Real Community
Vision:
A family of believers committed to pursuing Jesus together in everyday life, marked by authentic vulnerability, and faith-building encouragement.
At Emmanuel, small groups and PODs are the best places to form deep friendships, and live out everyday faith in community. Each year, groups commit to doing life and faith together – to be with Jesus, become like him, and to as he did.
We encourage everyone who considers Emmanuel their church home to be a part of a discipleship community, either a small group, a POD, or both.
Small Groups
Small groups are the heart of belonging at Emmanuel. Typically made up of 8-12 people, they meet weekly to catch up, study and apply God’s word, and pray together. Each group commits annually to journeying together in life and faith, sharing joy, offering care, and standing with one another through whatever comes.
If you’re new to church, this is the best way to get connected. To join a group, click on the button below or email david@emmanuelchurch.co.uk.
We suggest initially trying a group for a term. If it’s a good fit, you can commit on a year-by-year basis. If not for any reason, then you can join another. We want everyone to find a place they belong.
PODs
‘Where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.’

A POD is a Place of Discipleship, a group of 3-5 friends who commit for a year to regularly meet to pray, be accountable, and read and live out God’s word. They create space for deep, Christ-centred friendships, which support and point each other to Jesus throughout life’s ups and downs.
PODs are ideal for those seeking to grow with a few others in close discipleship. They can be a great fit for those with unpredictable schedules (e.g. shift workers), or anyone looking for a more flexible or focussed setting. Many choose to be a part of a POD alongside a small group.
