Welcome to Emmanuel Church

Our vision is Jesus: knowing him better and making him better known

"The harvest is plentiful... Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest field."

Bible verse for 2023 – Matthew 9 37b, 38

Welcome to Emmanuel Church

Welcome to Emmanuel. We believe that church is family, and we really value our multigenerational community feel. We have deep roots in the local community in Stoughton, though people come to us from across north Guildford. In everything we do, our vision is Jesus. We want to know him better ourselves, and we want to make him better known.

Our building is a hub of activity all week, from our café, fair trade shop, and Little Stars preschool, through to groups for children, teenagers, students, and adults of all ages. Do come and try one of our services on Sunday, to hear more about the God who made you, loves you, and even came to earth so that you could know him.  If you drop in you’ll find a warm welcome, and we’d love to get to know you better

Word and Spirit

We are followers of Jesus, rooted in the Bible and empowered by the Spirit.

Making Disciples

We believe God is calling us to serve our community, share our faith, and make a difference in the world.

New to Church

There is a special welcome for anyone new or visiting Emmanuel.  Our Welcome team are on standby to guide you.  There are refreshments after each service and a Welcome space to come and ask questions or just say ‘hi’.  We would love to get to know you.

Children and young people are especially welcome to all our services. Groups are available during Sunday Services – explained in our families & children page and youth page

Students are warmly welcomed to join the church family, enjoy a meal with us, or join other events during the week – detailed in the students & young adults page.

Details of our weekly worship and other events are updated in ‘What’s on’ and Community pages.

Coming to Emmanuel

Emmanuel Church is located at the junction of Shepherd’s Lane and Worplesdon Road. If you are walking there are entrances on both the Worplesdon Road and Shepherd’s Lane side. During the week the best entrance is normally the Parish Centre which can be found by following the signs down the back of the church.

There is a car park accessed from Shepherd’s Lane or you can park in the residential roads near by.  There are parking spaces designated for those with a disability badge. Emmanuel’s buildings are fully accessible at ground level – with a curb up from the car park.  The first floor of the Parish Centre can be accessed via a lift and there are accessible toilets on both levels.

If you are planning an event, there are rooms to hire in the Parish Centre – details on our Contact pages.  If you have any other questions, do get in touch.
