Emmanuel Church, Shepherds Lane, Guildford, GU2 9SJ

Welcome from Thom, Vicar
We’re a church for our community and you are invited, whatever your story. Church is a family for every day of the week, doing life together, supporting each other and growing in Christ-centred faith.
You matter to God. You matter to us.
Our building is a hub of activity all week, in our café, fair trade shop, and Little Stars preschool, and with groups for children, teenagers, students, and adults of all ages. Whether you’ve never entered a church before or have lots of church experience, there are many different ways you can get involved with the community here.
We’d love to encourage you to come and attend one of our services on Sunday, to hear more about the God who made you, loves you, and even came to earth so that you could know him. Please do drop in you’ll find a warm welcome, and we’d love to get to know you better.

How to find us!
Emmanuel Church is located at the junction of Shepherd’s Lane and Worplesdon Road. There are two entrances, one on the Worplesdon Road and the other Shepherd’s Lane.
During the week the best entrance is usually the Parish Centre which can be found by following the signs.
The car park is accessed from Shepherd’s Lane or you can park on nearby residential roads.
There are three designated parking spaces for those with a disability badge and 26 other car parking spaces. Our buildings are fully accessible at ground level – with a curb up from the car park. The first floor of the Parish Centre can be accessed via a lift and there are accessible toilets.

Discipleship Pathway
Whether we realise it or not, all of us are being formed – by our habits, relationships, the stories we believe, and our environment.
Many of us desire to become more like Jesus, but can feel stuck or struggle. We need a reliable framework, a pathway to transformation.
The Practices are biblical disciplines that help us open up and create space for the Spirit to transform us at the deepest level from the inside out.
Their value is in why we do them and what they do to us – they aren’t a tool to tick a box or to compare ourselves with others.
They are al best practiced within community – in our Small Groups and PODs.
Transformation is possible, but it’s not inevitable. These practices can help us to: be with Jesus, become like him, and to do as He did.
