Worshippers at Emmanuel Church have known the Rev. Hamlet Mbabazi and Kirima Parents Primary School in Uganda for many years.

We met Hamlet when he made a planned visit to the UK in September 2009 to take part in a conference of the UK charity which supports Kirima and a number of other schools in the Kanungu district of Uganda. Hamlet also paid an unexpected visit to Emmanuel one Sunday evening in March 2010 when he gave more recent news of the school

Progress in 2009 included the completion of a new two storey multi-classroom brick building, which is excellent news. However, as of November 2009 their inventory did not list a library or textbooks.
There are between 350 and 400 children who attend the school, of whom 74 are sponsored by worshippers or associates of Emmanuel. About 38 children still require prayer and financial support – COULD YOU PROVIDE THIS FOR THEM? Sponsors receive a photograph and occasionally a letter, and are able to correspond with their child. We welcome sponsors at any time of year and would ask people to seriously consider this.

At Emmanuel, in addition to the sponsorship, we have continued to organise Christmas and Easter cards combined with a financial gift of love for the staff and children, and in 2009 the church kindly donated the proceeds from the ‘communal Christmas card scheme’ to Kirima.

We would like, on behalf of the pupils and the school, to thank supporters both new and old.
