CMS

Church Mission Society

CMS is committed to evangelistic mission, working to see our world transformed by the love of Jesus

It is inspired by the hope that one day the whole of creation will be restored to a living, loving relationship with God

Born in 1799, in the crucible of the campaign to abolish slavery, CMS has always had justice and evangelism at its heart

Today it’s a community of people in mission working in over 50 countries – a community that has heard God’s call to join in his loving outreach to the world and has rolled up its sleeves to serve others in mission

CMS has a project in Pakistan called Islamabad Christians against Narcotics. It demonstrates the love of God to poverty-ridden people who are vulnerable to drug misuse and HIV/AIDS.

It helps them to develop physically, mentally, socially and spiritually so that their lives can be transformed to hope, joy and lasting productivity

Emmanuel has been linked for several years with Carol and Roger Smith, who were working with ICAN in Islamabad.  They have now retired, and our new link with ICAN and other projects in Pakistan is Aamir Shahzad – pictured here

Last year ICAN and its need for a new residential unit to house recovering addicts was the focus for our autumn gift day. The Lord made it possible for us to respond by sending £9,500 to help with this building project
