As Christians we aim to be people who give – give of our energy, time, abilities, hospitality and also of our money and resources. We do this as a response to a loving and generous God. So, giving is a very personal thing.
Emmanuel has a Commitment Sunday towards the end of November when we’re invited to commit ourselves to giving money and time to God’s work at Emmanuel and to projects outside this church. This is for those who see themselves as church members and is not aimed at people who are visitors to the church.
At each of our services there are offering baskets at the back of the church so that people can leave a gift for God’s work as they arrive; however most members tend to make regular offerings by standing order or cheque. There is a scheme for planned giving by cash, cheque or standing order on which tax can be reclaimed.
Our resources go towards supporting the church here in Guildford and people can also choose to give to a whole range of outward-looking projects. See the Partners in Mission pages for the societies and individuals we support as a church
There are also two Gift Days during the year. These provide us with the opportunity to thank God for His faithfulness to us by giving additional support to our link mission societies, partners and major building projects in different parts of the world
Please ask one of the staff team at church for more information about giving, or contact the office during the week
Church members who buy things on line can also help by signing up to www.easyfundraising.org.uk. On-line retailers like Sainsburys, Amazon, Boots etc give a small percentage of their profit to your chosen charity each time you buy something. Emmanuel could be your chosen charity.
